Registration for Rhode Island College - Early Enrollment Program courses is currently ongoing. Students in the U.S. History Honors class can attain 6 college credits if they enroll for both the fall and spring semesters. Students can also opt to take only the fall semester for 3 credits. Students in the A.P. Calculus class can earn 4 college credits. Cost is $50.00 per credit with a $10.00 registration fee for each enrolled semester. Students with parents employed full time at the University of Rhode Island can obtain a tuition waiver form from the University and submit it with the registration. Students will still need to pay the $10.00 registration fee. As mentioned in the October 5th EEP assembly, students requiring tuition assistance should see Ms. Oliveira. Fall registrations are due by October 15th. Spring courses will have a separate registration starting after first semester exams.

Also, I want to congratulate and thank the rest of the team for a great effort serving on the team and representing EWG at this esteemed competition:

The top Teams in the State were:

| | It has come to my attention that the following items were incorrect or missing; from the 11th grade list:
The Road- Cormac McCarthy
Prompt: For a novel set in a post-apocalyptic world, there is a lot of discussion of God. The sardonic blind man named Ely who the man and boy encounter on the road tells the father that "There is no God and we are his prophets" [p. 170]. What does he mean by this? Why does the father say about his son, later in the same conversation, "What if I said that he's a god?" [p. 172] Are we meant to see the son as a savior? What is implied by the father's statement that "On this road there are no godspoke men. They are gone and I am left and they have taken with them the world" [p. 32]? Support your thesis with evidence from the text.

Ocean State Transit has released the bus schedules for the 2010-2011 school year. Please click on the attachments below to download. Thank you. |
| | I have been in regular communication with RIEMA over the last two days in anticipation of Hurricane Earl's arrival. To make sure that the children get home safely tomorrow we will have an early dismissal. The high school and junior high will dismiss at 11:30. Metcalf and Wawaloam will dismiss at 1:00. Kindergarten and pre-K special ed are cancelled for tomorrow. The buses cannot deliver the kindergarten students given the schedule. Lunch schedules will be modified. The heavy part of the storm is not expected until 5pm so the early dismissal gives us a little cushion. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
